Help: windshield wipers/washers won't stop

'94 E500:
Today out of the blue...the windshield wipers/washers and headlight wipers started coming on when the headlights are activated. Turning the lights off stops them.

Obviously, it's an electrical issue...probably a short somewhere. Any ideas on where to start looking?

Thanks

The right headlight wiper can feed-back into the regular wiper system. Try un-plugging the RIGHT headlight wiper motor or the washer motor with the piggy-back electrical plug.

Thanks Doc...I'll check it out. Does unplugging/replugging "cure" it?

Won't cure but will help in diagnosis.

Ok...I fixed it...or at least, the problem is gone now.
I tried pulling the headlight connectors and washer pumps...no change.

I ended up pulling the #2 fuse for the washer/wiper system. Started the car and turned on the headlights. For an instant, the washer pumps came on then turned off. I replaced the fuse and everything is working properly.

Seems like there must be a relay that needed resetting...if it happens again, I'll dig a little deeper.

Thanks for the help!
