Unhappy asr light/ e-gas modual probs 4 95' S-5oo

Recently, the asr light came on. this put me into "Crawl Home" mode, which only allows the car to start moving after pressing the pedal 50%. this is a great feature, considering 99% of the cars on the planet would need a tow with this problem. i called my dealer. he said it is the "chip", and said it costs $1,300. i called a dealer closer to me, and being that the guy first offered up a $5.00 option, using w-d40 on the linkage behind the firewall to free-up sludge. this did'nt work. i took my 1995 s-500 to him to eval. and then repair. he fixed the asr problem. 2 days later the light came on again, causing "crawl home" to kick in. i took the car back. he then told me that the problem is that the e-gas module is also bad, and it will cost $1,100 to change it, parts/labor. that they both work together, to create the problem. if this is true, does anyone know where i could get an e-gas module at a better cost? can i change it myself? and finally, i run octane boost in my fuel. at 16 gallons to a bottle produces 98 octane. the S-500 is one of the worlds heaviest cars, and the boost helps to "Lunch" on anything on the road. but could this be the reason for the asr/e-gas module problem? after 2 months of letting toyota's beat me up, i need some help. if anyone knows anything, let me know.

ASR electronic accelerator problems are quite common. THE throttle actuator is the cause of that problem 99% of the time.

WHAT codes were read from the E-gas computer. Something as simple as a brake lamp switch OR blown brake lamp fuse can cause that problem!
