1993 300E 3.2 Alarm troubles.
Searched database and couldn't find anything like it. Bad for me.
When we exit the vehicle and then lock the doors with the key at the drivers side, everything is OK until you need to go back out and try to get in the car again. I fyou unlock the drivers door with the key and open the door for entry the Factory alarm goes off. Immediately you close the door from the outside, go back to the trunk lock the door and the alarm shuts up. Then iimediately you open the doors from the trunk and you enter the drivers side door and every thing is fine. Touchy car. I've disconnected the battery multiple times but the problem keeps coming back. I sthere a sequence that I'm not supposed to perform that screws up the alarm system? Or a locking/unlocking sequence that is messing the alarm? This is a puzzling electronic car. Where is my 1967 bug? ![]()

Each of the key locks have an ON/OFF micro-switch to arm & dis-arm the alarm. Sounds like the drivers side switch is not operating in the OFF position.
The switch part number is 002-820-10-10 for the left door lock. $89.

THanks, my wife just saw the reply and said: Go through the trunk. I said I'll disconnect the alarm, nobody will steal the car anyways, she says hope they do. Funny.
