How big a job to remove sunroof gasket on W124?

I have noticed 2 small areas of paint bubbling up at the 2 front "corners" of the sunroof of my car, (outside the sunroof opening, not on the sunroof panel itself). I showed it to someone at a body shop and the fellow there said the rubber gasket, at least, would need to come out to let him get to the vertical part of the sunroof opening. I talked to my mechanic and he wasn't sure what this would entail -- taking out the sunroof panel, removing the headlining, etc. He said to R and R the headlining is a big job, maybe 16 hours...

I looked it up on the CD and looks to me like the gasket simply pulls out, without removing the headlining or sunroof panel, so if I'm right, not too big a job. Anyone have any experience with this?
