I just got my car and figured my gas mileage to be 18.5 MPG. This is with running the AC all the time. Is this a normal MPG for my car? I thought it's supose to be around 20.

Yes, with the AC running, 18.6 is actually pretty good.

I get a little better than that highway, i.e., 19.5 - 22.5 highway, but around 17.5-19 city, on my 300 SEL which is bigger than your car. All depends on your driving habits.
Believe it or not my A/C does not have that much affect on my mileage, don't know why. ------------------ '89 420 SEL '90 300 SEL '84 300 SD (sold it) |

I have done as little as 15 and as much as 22 mpg. It all depended on how and where I drove the car - 65 on the freeway for a full tank gave me 22mpg, lots of surface streets, AC, and twisty hills yielded 15. Usually get 19-20 on average.

87 260E w/175k miles--I just checked two tankfulls and got 23.8 mostly interstate about 80% of time w/air on most of the time. I too notice little difference in fuel economy w/ a/c on--might be wind drag from having windows open in non a/c mode.
