190e 2.6 starts and cuts out
I am about to pick up a 1991 190E 2.6 that got the driver's side fender mangled in an accident. The radiator still holds fluid. However, the car only runs for a second or two (so the PO tells me) and then dies.
Care to take a guess what I'm going to have to jury rig to get it running? The goal isn't to fix the car, it's to pull the engine out, after I verify that it actually can run when I transplant it. I'm a 108/109/111 kinda guru. These little wind-up 201 cars are horses (mules?) of a different color. -CTH |
190 E
Try taking the fuel pump relay out(located behind the battery) and use a jumper wire between pins 87 & 30 shown on the bottom of the relay to keep the fuel pump activated. Oh while you're behind the battery check to make sure that the fuse is not blow in the overvoltage protection relay.

good starting point. Thanks. The driver's side front is a bit of a mess, so there may be something damaged in there. -CTH
