Could a warped cylinder head or leaking head gasket cause overheating? I have already changed all the cooling parts to brand new and had the car diagnosed. The Mech told me that it could be a warped head/leaky head gasket. Is there a test to make sure that it's the head? Just wanna be 100% sure or get a second opinion before opening up the engine.
Thanks! Francis 1985 300D (124) |

francis,
You can do a compression test and also watch for bubbles in the coolant. Good luck, ------------------ Larry Bible '84 Euro 240D, 523K miles '88 300E 5 Speed '81 300D Daughter's Car Over 800,000 miles in Mercedes automobiles |

There is a tool sold by NAPA for this...It goes in the place of the reservoir cap. You run the engine and if the blue liquid turns yellow, you have a combustion leak into the coolant system.
