Need help to find lug bolt size for CLK rims

I have a 400E and have a set of the aluminum CLK rims that I would like the put on. The problem is that the lug bolts currently on my car will not work.

They have about 1/2" of shaftlength between the head of the bolt and the threads. That 1/2" is there because my current rims have that space in them between the hub and where the bolt head sits.

The CLK rims have very little space so if I use my current bolts the head will sick out about 1/2 from the rim, which isn't going to work to well

I think that the correct bolts will be shorter and have the thread go all the way to the bolt head, but I don't know for sure.

Does anyone who has these rims know?

You have probably resolved this by now but I put the exact same rims on my 300E. The lug bolts came from the junk yard and the bolts were from a 190E with steel rims or from any volkswagon with a 12mm lug bolt.

Thanks for the info., as you guessed I solved the problem by getting some lud bolts off ebay and grinding them down.
