Which is the "EARTH" cable on alternator
Hi there,
There are 2 cables attached to the alternator... one THICK one and another THIN one... now, which is the EARTH wire.. just dun wanna screw up... Thanks. Also, does anyone know where's the earth wire on the engine? Can't seem to locate. Thanks my friends... Rgds |

The thick red one attached to the insulated post is the alternator output and goes to the electrical system and battery for charging. The thin one is the field wire use to energize the rotor windings through the dash alternator light. The alternator body is grounded either through a strap or by the bolts to the engine and its grounding straps.
