89-300CE drivers side window adjust ?

After adjusting my drivers side door alignment I now find that my door is hard to close with the window all the way up. I have removed my door panel and am looking for an adjustment to limit the up travel. The only thing that looks like it might work are the nuts that hold the lifting mechanism to the metal frame glued to the bottom of the window. Is this where the adjustment is made or is there a travel stop somewhere?

At the bottom of the door there are two adjusters that look like they might control the amount that the window tilts in or out. It appears that this is adjusted from the outside of the door once the lower cladding is removed. If this correct what is the proceedure for removing the lower cladding?

I have found no info on these items in the service CD's.
