How do I cancel the message on odometer

I got a 2000 E320 and recently got message on odometer saying "Maintenance B in 500 Miles". I got the maintenance done but just don't know how to cancel the message. Please advise.

Hmmm... Don't you have the owner's manual? Look for the FSS function and follow the procedure to reset.

It should be simple. Unfortunately I don't have the book on me right now, so I can't say exactly, but it is in the owner's manual under FSS.

Try this:http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/tech-help/87551-dashboard-message.html?highlight=fss+reset

Thank you so much. I guess i need the user manual from the previous owner.

I tried the suggested procedures a few times without success and the alert message on B Service is still there. Any advise please.

You definitely need the owners manual. I personally will not purchase a used car without the owners manual because this is an indication of neglect and lack of caring by the previous owner.

Secondly, don't ignore the message that the car needs service. At the very least, change oil and filter.

Hope this helps,

Yup, I got the oil and filter changed every 2500 miles which is far more frequent than the suggest intervals.

Try this procedure:
1. Turn electronic key in steering lock to position 2.
2. Within 4 seconds press button 0 twice.
3. The present status for days or distance is displayed. Within 10 seconds turn electronic key in steering lock to position 0.
4. Press and hold button 0, while turning electronic key in steering lock to postion 2 again. The present status for days or distance is displayed once more. Continue to hold button 0. After approximately 10 seconds a signal sounds, and the display shows 10,000 miles.
5. Release button 0.

make sure the LF door is closed when you attempt it. you may not get it on the first try as the timing is a bit tricky.

For me it is right door coz I am in Hong Kong . Thanks for the advise.
