On a 1986 300E, should I change the fan clutch or should I change both the clutch and the blades??? If just the clutch, what is the special tool I need to do this job???

Why are you changing?? Generally, if the blade assy is not damaged there is no reason to replace it. There is a special tool for holding the clutch while removing retainer bolt. Believe they sell it at the PArts Shop here.

There is also a special tool which is a short allen socket which will fit between the radiator and the fan clutch bolts.

Good luck,
