My last ditch effort

Car runs like an eighty year old man after a marathon. 89 2.6L 190E. Found a leaky EHA valve, replaced it. I asked the previous owner if he ever changed the Oxygen sensor. No. So I broke down and ordered the 3 figure part. It's on the exhaust manifold, right? The check engine light finally started coming on, so I figured it could give some codes. My brother's car did the same thing as mine and a new sensor did the trick. Exhaust smells like fuel. I'm hoping this will fix it. I'm out of ideas.
