Lovering and alignment on a 300ce.
I am lovering my 300 ce next week.
I plan to do this at Fisher tires in Knoxville,Tennessee. I got the Eiback pro kit and Bilstein HD's.Putting new 1 bump pads in the front and 2 bumps in the back. Does this parts come with every thing needed to complete the job???or is there any other parts needed to be brought to the shop to complete the job?? Also should I wait a week or so to let everything settle before I getting a alingnment??? again, do I need to bring anything to complete the alingment. THANKS RAY |

Do a search.
The main thing I would want to do is align the car to sportline specs. |

You'll also need a camber kit (approx $500) to get your alignment within specs. Do a search. It's been discussed many times on this forum so there's tons of information to help you with this project.
Good luck.

Just as a non-expert bystander, I thought you needed Bilstein 'sport' shocks, that the HD's are stock length?

You could use either the Bilstein HD or Sport. It's a borderline call. Eibach says you can use HD's, Bilstein says anything more than 25 mm drop can use their Sports. Main difference is that you maintain full stroke with the Sports, because of their shortened shaft.

You don't have to spend $500 dollars on a rear alignment kit. You can get rear camber arms from SpeedyBenz. He's the only one making them now. They cost about $200. I have similar set from a company that use to make them and they work very well.
Go to this link to learn more. You'll also find SpeedBenz and learn what happened to the company I bought mine from. Soon to be released chasis tweak Pictures and discussion: http://www.bnzsport.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=9104&hl=camber+arms Also you can get the alignment pretty close if you are lowering with Eibachs with no original spring pad change So you don't have to get the camber fixed immediately, just have the tech get the alignment as close to spec as possible then save up, buy them, and go back later . Thank you for all the info.
Ok. Lets see if i am getting wiser. I have stock 3 bump pads in 4 corners. Planning to put new 1 bump pads in front and new 2 bump pads in the rear. It sound's after reading the forum that the camber in the front is adjustible without any additional parts?. For the rear i think i will go safe with the k-mac camber kit #502026. What is the correct specs on this car??? Have read different numbers on the forum. Should i go with sportline or AMG specs and where can i get hold of the numbers. . Thank you |
