How to adjust Park-Neutral Switch?

Car will not start in park but will start in neutral.Called Phil to order a new switch,and he [Great Guy] informed me that the switch is adjustable.Before i get under there i would like to know how to do this.

The two mounting tabs on the switch are elongated , so you can adjust the switch by rotating in either direction.
You also want to check the shifter bushing. It is common for the shift lever to reach the stop on the shift gate at the Park posistion
without the switch reaching the start position because of the slop in the bushing .
In any event, I would change the switch anyway .. high wear item and susceptical to water/dirt after time. I have taken a few bad ones apart and they are alway full of crap..
The Park cam inside the switch seems to wear out before the N one does [ 2 different cams using the same contact set.]

I adjusted mine and it helped for about a week or so then it refused to start in park again.

It's a relatively easy job and the part isn't too expensive either.
