94 E320 Wgn Rear Seat Release

The right rear seat releases with a firm pull, but the left rear seat back requires a kung-fu kick while laying behind the back seat.

I've removed the interior panel, but need help understanding what gets adjusted to have the latch release properly.

Your suggestions are appreciated.
