Orange Anti freeze Testing
Anyone know if the coolant testers designed for Green Ethylene glycol to Water ratios are accurate for Orange MB type coolant? Never had to wonder until I mixed up a batch and forgot to label it!! Thanks...

No idea how accurate this is but I premixed my coolant to what I calculated to be approximately 45/55. Then checked using my Prestone coolant tester with the result of just under 45% coolant and protection to well below zero F.

If you're talking about an antifreeze hydrometer to measure freeze/boiling point, yes they will work on any ethylene glycol base antifreeze regardless of the corrosion inhibitor chemistry. Dexool and Zerex G-05 (same as MB antifreeze) are both ethylend glycol based.
If you're talking about the litmus paper for testing reserve alkylinity, it is only valid for the traditional green antifreeze. Duke |
