1998 W210 Ac
1998 W210 Air Conditioner
Hello, My car has been sitting for 11 months, I have started it maybe 3 times a month, but never cut the AC on.. I just fired up the AC and the compressor comes on, but no cold air and the aux. fans do not come on...???? I hear a hissing sound from the center vents... What gives.. Could a hose haecome loose behind the dash? Peter _____

The aux fans are tripped on by high refrigerant pressure. Start by checking the fuse and then see if the refrigerant pressure is acting normally.

Peter,
I sincerely hope I'm wrong in saying this but when my car gave those symptoms it was the evaporator. I'd go to AutoZone who'll loan (you buy and then they buy back) a set of AC gauges and vacuum pump and see what you have. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you don't have a freon leak. Peter |
