I am looking at a 1996 E320 with 90000 km on it. Anyone has any experience with it? Is it worth buying? Is there anything I should watch out for? Or, major problems?

My understanding is that it has, basically, the same engine as the 95's. It is the first year for the new body style. I know the V-6 came out in 98. May be somebody else can help you out with more technical stuff. It is a nice car!

Have the headgasket inspected. The M104 tends to leak oil around the pass. side rear of the engine. Also check the front cam cover. It'll leak oil down the pass. front side. Not something you want to find out down the road.

I have a '94 and a '97. The engine is fine, no head gasket problems on either. The cam covers do leak, but MB has a new sealant that works. Neither of mine leak there any more. The trans is not the new electronic model, they arrived in "97. Just make sure the trans is serviced on schedule.
I have not heard of any body problems on the '96. If this is from a dealer all the records are on the computer, get a copy. Ed

Thanks everyone for their advices. I decided against the E320 and bought a 1997 E420 instead. The E420 is just magnificent!

I've got a 1997 Black Pearl E420 as well. They are sweet.
