Random Missfire

I get a E320 1996. Engine light came on and the code indicate P300 which is RANDOM MISSFIRE.
Any one experience this? What could it be. Please help.

Thanks

Could be as simple as sparkplugs. ;)

My best guess is coil wire boots. I believe they are the cause of 95% of all misfire problems on M104 engines (3.2 liter and 2.8 liter engines from 1993-1997).

Your engine has 3 coil wires and 3 high tension leads (each coil wire fires two cylinders).

Replace the coil wire boots or ends under the three coil wires.
