Extremely rough idle on 1980 300TD wagon (turbo)
I have a 1980 300TD wagon, turbo, that has an extremely rough idle. By rough I mean that the shaking is so bad that I tend to get queasy when stopped for a long red light.
The fuel lines themselves are leaking which I will take care of with new lines. One of the injectors shows signs of leaking, but it may be from the attached fuel line. The injectors are of unknown age. There is clicking at one or two of the injectors. Would bad injectors make this engine rock so horribly? Where is the best place to get a matched set of injectors for this vehicle? Other problem - oil in the air filter. What could the problem be there? Thanks, LoRev |

yes to both of the above, try tightening the lines with a 9/16" crow foot wrench/socket, that should reduce it somewhat.

You might want to check the motor mounts if the engine seems to run ok.
