Fuel Sender Replacement Question

I received the new sending unit from Fastlane (thanks, Phil). I have read about removing a shipping wire before installing. However, there is no wire on mine (at least not visible on the outside). How do I ensure there is no wire to remove? Car is 94 E320 wagon.

I have read that too. I would think it would be on the top of the unit to protect prongs. Basically I would compare to unit being replaced, make it similar so it can be replugged and you should be there. Easy replacement, with a mostly empty tank you wont even have fuel mess to deal with.
