Question W210 dash storage compartment removal

Can anyone tell me how to release and remove the storage compartment below the radio? This would be a great spot to mount my ham radio.

Thanks!
Rex

Once you take out the ash tray, reach up and behind the compartment ,, there is a clip that pulls down slightly to release it

Thanks for the response Peter. You must have been sifting through old messages. I had posted that question in February of 2003, and never received an answer until now. Thanks again!

Sure Peter, I'd like to see the pics you took. I'm sure there are others that would benefit from them also. Did you attend the MBCA Tech Session with George Murphy last year at Mercedes Benz of West Chester?
