Question Location of 1998 E320 ECT sensor

Hello all -

I think I need to replace my 1998 E320 ECT sensor - its diagnostic value has the temperature of 80s when all other values are in the range of 30s.

Is this a DIY thingy? Where is this sensor located? Any assistance and direction will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!

Diagnostic sensor value of ECT sensor will equal the engine temperature. IF the ECT is bad you might get a check engine lamp.

The sensor is in the front of the engine on the passenger side, near the passenger cylinder head. IT is held in with a pull-out clip & has a single wire going to it.

Hhhm.... Thanks for the input. I guess my A/C problem is not due to the ECT sensor, although the error codes point to ECT sensor and sun sensor. My Control Current for aux. fan is 0. Does it mean my compressor is bad? Thanks again.
