Lliquid in intake manifold on 260E 1988 Euro

When cleaning the throttle body, and replacing the hose from Air Mass Flowmeter to intake, I found that there is liquid in the intake manifold (to be seen in the picture)

Should it be dry , and should I suspect any thing wrong with my engine?

any suggestions of what I should do as maintenance/ repair?
