job number for replacing distributor cap & rotor 300-E
I have to say that me and Mercedes-Benz CD service manuals do not mix well.
I am either bline or need some education into the Mercedes-benz way of thinking . I posted an earlier inquiry on replacing the distributor cap , rotor and o ring on my 1992 300-E M103 engine. I thank all you came to my post to help me out. This morning I popped in the old CD into my computer to do a quick search to back up any information I needed. I logically looked in the first CD under maintance services even under spark plug replacement. I though the job number was 15 535 ? I could not fine it in both CDs . Were on earth did they list this service? Bob Geco 1992 W124 300-E M103 engine |

Bob, I looked it up in my paper engine manual. It's job 15-535.
However, it basically says nothing that isn't obvious. Remove the plastic shield. Remove the three socket head screws that secure the Cap. Remove the three screws on the rotor. That's it. I have done this on my M103. Simple, except for routing the wires and getting the plastic cover strip to stay in place. Steve |
