Sad news...
well, the verdict is in on my 300E- the evaporator is shot and leaking badly. I can't afford the cost of the reapir so you'll see the car over in the for sale section if anyone's interested

Do you really need the AC? If the cars in good shape screw the AC, thats what the sunroof is for.

yea... I've had a change of heart. The car is in great shape apart from the head gasket but I can live with that for now.
I went outside and looked at it again and thought of all the hours (and $$$'s!) I put into it and I can't bear to part with it... not yet anyway! I'm gonna sweat it out, go 'ghetto' and get one of those clip-on fans I think and do all windows and sunroof open and hope I don't melt.

yea, I don't mind the heat, it's the humidity we get here that kills me.
I was just in the mountains of Arizona- 85-90 with no humidity...lovely!
