What does EGR inoperative mean, this occurs when I check the codes of my 1994 E320. Thanks, Bill Scott

The EGR temp sensor isn't providing expected readings to the ECU. It could mean the EGR port is clogged but on a 94 it could just as well mean the beginning of wiring harness problems.
