Is there any way to disable traction control on 1992 500E?
I know that when you turn off the traction control it still reacts when there is slippage at the wheels. Is there a way to disable it? I realize that losing the traction control will also defeat the ABS. I read somewhere before that disconnecting the front wheel speed sensors disables it. Is there an easier way?
TIA, Steve

I've heard people mention it here before. Do a search and you will see about a mod that disables it. I believe there were a lot of posts regarding it.
Thanks David

Bergwerks makes a disable kit which allows the ABS to work but turns off the ASR. You can turn the ASR On/Off with a supplied switch.
Keep in mind that the 500E doesn't have a limited slip diff.

I read somewhere to disconnect the brake pedal leads, not the brake light circuit!

Near the passenger side strut tower you'll find a cable which can be disconnected to disable the ASR. This will also disable the ABS. This is the easiest way to disable the system if for example you want to dyno the car.
