S-class and CL-class Recall
DaimlerChrysler recalls
Mercedes-Benz USA, which has been fighting challenges to the reputation of its vehicle quality, has told NHTSA about two safety recalls it is conducting. The automaker says owners of about 54,000 S-class and CL-class cars built for the 2000-01 model years should return the vehicles for replacement of blower motor fuse holders. An improperly sized conductor may cause the holder to overheat and partially melt, disabling the blower motor. The company says that about 6,200 S-class and CL-class cars built for the 2001-03 model years need a new high-pressure hose to distribute hydraulic fluid to the suspension system. The original hose is prone to corrosion and leakage of hydraulic fluid, Mercedes-Benz says. Leaking fluid could impair the performance of the suspension system and create a fire hazard.

oh well !
here's what I don't understand. why did it take them 3 years to figure out that those models need to be recalled ? did they just realize that ? or were they waiting for enough customers to go back to service with those problems and they decided they should recall it ? i bet it was the latter.
