whoops! broken side mirror on 2000 S500
We accidentally broke the passenger side mirror when backing out the car. I don't want to go through the insurance company since it looks like an easy fix, but I am having trouble finding the right parts to order. Both the mirror housing and the light lens in the mirror need to be replaced. I tried to write down the numbers that I found on each, but I am not sure which ones are the part numbers. On the lens it says the following:
lens 254318/2060 mb2208100264 verkl-r q10 /xy 9040 schwarx 254138 254136 and on the mirror housing it says zb 2208100264re 254116 The mirror housing is black. What are the part numbers that I really need to use to order new ones from the part shop? Thanks, Hemant |

I did the same thing with my 2001 CLK.
Go to the parts department at the dealer and find out what assemblies are sold for your model. In my case I could buy the following: New bracket arm (includes motor). New housing (includes the light lens and is factory paonted). Just figure out what is broken and replace w/ parts from the above assemblies. I was able to repair everything from the outside of the car. |

Re: whoops! broken side mirror on 2000 S500
Quote:
So The Part Number May still be good ..The One molded on the Mirror cover.2208100264re To Remove the Outer Mirror Cover fold back the Mirror and Use a Flat blade Screw driver to release the spring clip.. (On the Inside of the Mirror there will be a Metal clip)then the cover will slide off. Check the Operation of the Mirror ..all you may need is the outer cover and Turn signal lens..The Paint Code is listed as Black 040 Solid Black.. |
