Winter storage of SL500

I plan to store my 97 SL500 for six months in an unheated storage garage. Can I disconnect and remove battery without messing up any computer codes? Also, is there any recommended storage procedure I should use other than using dessicant and removing the battery? I plan to store with the hardtop on.

Make sure to fill up the gas tank all the way to the top to prevent any rusting. As for the battery, I'm not too sure, but since the later models are computers with wheels it might not be the best idea, but I don't see how it could hurt, perhaps one of our experts can comment a bit further on this.

Six months isnt long enough to worry about long-term storage issues...

...I would get one of those trickle charger deals that keep your battery up to snuff when you do take it out of storage.

As for removing the battery, it won't hurt the car, but you will at least have to recode your radio and resynchronize your softtop/hardtop operation...
