Eratic Engine 1975 450 Sl
 

I HAVE A 1975 450 SL. I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH IDELING AND MISSING LIKE IT IS LOADING UP WHEN I START IT. I DRIVE IT FOR A WHILE AND IT CLEARS UP AND RUNS FINE. I HAVE REPLACED PLUGS , PLUG WIRES CHECKED EGR VALVE, POINTS ROTAR,FUELFILTER, DISTRIBUTROR CAP. IN GENERAL ABOUT EVERY THING I CAN THINK OF. Try checking the cold start valve to rule out leaking. Also check the thermo-time switch and its relay, the air temp sensor in the air horn and the coolant temp sensor. These are covered in R107 service manual, job # 07.4-125. Also check fuel pressure, job #07.4-120.
