help. anyone with 86 300e using new fuel pump relay

Is there anyone out there with an 86 or 87 300e using the new fuel pump relay, part number 003 545 24 05

I've just found out my car should be using the old style relay 002 545 27 05 and I want to know if I can continue using the new relay without problems.

Specifically, my engine starts to cut out at 4,000 rpm although runs fine at all other times.

I think the new relay has a rev limiter which should be disabled while the car is in motion with a signal from the Hall effect sensor.

My car does not appear to have a Hall effect sensor. My thinking is the relay is not getting a signal to disable the rev limiter so cuts the fuel supply at 4000 rpm.

Can anyone help with this please?
