C280 Sport Gauge problem

1996 c280 sport 160,000 miles

NONE of the gauges work - they are getting power though as the Tach tries to go the wrong direction and bounces back and forth from zero to below zero.

I checked all fuses any and they are good.

The lights, trip , and regular odometer work normally.

Any help is apreciated

Mine had a problem with the needles sticking to the pins that they rest on. The bouncing tach needle suggests something else is wrong. I removed the cluster and disassembled it to clean the pins and the gauge needles.

this isn't the case

they are all dead - except the tach which trys to go backwards, and when it trys to go backwards it clearly bounces off - so it's not stuck.
