Dear Sir:
Is it needed to take any special care about starting/turning off the supercharge engine of SLK230K ? I mean how's the wait time after starting a cool car , and turning off after ceasing the car ? Best Regards Thanks ! |

YCCHOU,
It will vary depending on how hard you drive the car. But usually, here is what I do(I have a heavy right foot). I would let the car idle for 30 - 60 sec before I shut the engine off to let the oil/coolant circulate. This is VERY critical for Turbo-charged engine, and may as well apply to supercharged as those engines are usually working harder then N/A engines. As for start up. The car is ready to drive after 15 - 30 sec. But 'til the oil/coolant temp has reach it's proper working temp, take it easy on the throttle. Avoid full throttle and high rpm. Hope this helps, Andy Kuo ------------------

The supercharger doesn't use the hot exhaust to propel the air charge like a turbo does, so cool down time isn't required.
