Any MBZ pieces (or mechanics) near Abilene?
Hello, I recently purchased a 1982 MBZ 300D turbo, and live in Abilene, TX. I heard there "used to be" an MBZ dealer in town, but they closed. Since I don't consider myself overly mechanically inclined, I am looking for someone that can assist in trouoble-shooting problems, telling me what needs to be fixed, and the occasional helping hand.
I want to do as much of any repair myself as I can.The car is in fairly good shape but needs mostly minor stuff. I have access to an auto shop with lifts and tools (and some mechanical assistance), but I don't think they have the MBZ specialty tools. As they say at work: thanks in advance. (Mostly I am looking for information at the present time. |

I'd repost this on the diesel forum or the tech forum or both and I'm sure you will find someone close to you that has knowledge of what you seek.
Read the welcome thread and the DIY threads and welcome to MB land.

Call here:
F.A.P.,Inc. (254) 653-2291 or (254) 631-1412 M-F 9-5:30, Sat. appt. Joe Stewart is the owner and is located between Eastland and Ranger, TX. In fact, he bought the parts inventory from the dealership that used to be in Abilene. He can probably give you a referral for a shop in Abilene.

Thanks!
Thanks a bunch. I am just learning my way around the site. It is great (in my opinion) and has already helped me out a lot. The reason I havn't answered before is that I am just learning my way around the site. I didn't know there was a "welcome" thread; now I will have to go find it. Again, thank you!
