W124 Ball joint press tool anyone ?

Hello,

Doe anyone have available for rent ... the ball joint press tool for the W124 covering the year/ model > 1991 300D

or just take it to a local shop and have them use theirs...

The Baum tools unit does not require removing the control arm, messing with the spring, or with the alignment...

You can use a normal "C" clamp press as well; assuming you don't mind grinding the steel spacer a bit.
Just grind the outside edge of the spacer down so it comes to a sharper angle on the inside. Then just seat the sharp edge up as close to the ball joint as you can before tightening the press that way it will "bite" the control arm instead of sliding up/around. I did both sides this way.

This is my press and I have used it many times already. Makes easy work. I even removed a very corroded one that was siezed in its ball casing.
