Whats it worth???

I sure like coming to this site to read and learn about my 240D but now I need your help with a project car.

I have a 1972 220D that I bought for my daughter in hopes of restoring it before she graduated high school. Well she’s a senior this year and there’s no way that I can finish this project now. (Since I have not started it yet!) So I’m asking all of you what do you think its worth? I’ve had it for 3 years but never put it on the road so all I know about it is this:
1) Engine smokes but smells like diesel not oil. (Fuel is 3+ years old)
2) Neutral safety switch is intermitted.
3) Alternator bearings are shot.
4) Starter bendix grinds sometimes.
5) Rust in the floorboards (BAD, large holes).
6) A few small rust holes in the rear quarter panels. (size of a quarter)
7) Trunk floor is 25% rusted out.
8) Needs new seat covers.
9) Needs TLC badly.

Now I need to sell this one and find a drivable one for her…. Such fun to look.

Thanks,

Bill

It's probably worth about what you paid for it in the first place, maybe less, since you've done nothing with it.

That old, that much rust and generally pretty poor condition here where I live (west coast) you'd be lucky to get $200 for it as a parts car.
