300SL Gullwing for sale at Dick Brooks auction

Estate auction. Anyone in the mkt for a Gullwing may find what they are looking for here:

NASCAR notable Brooks’ estate to be auctioned
An auction to liquidate the possessions of NASCAR stock car racing notable Dick Brooks will be conducted March 24 at his Woodruff, South Carolina, estate.
Brooks, who died Feb. 2, 2006, of a heart attack, owned several airplanes, including a T-28 Trojan military training plane; a North American SNJ-5 and a twin-engine Piper Aztec, as well as a smattering of collectible cars, including a 1957 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL gullwing coupe; a 1958 Chevrolet Impala convertible with a 348-cu.in. engine; and a pair of 1957 Chevrolets, a red convertible and black fuel-injected two-door sedan.
Also being auctioned: an extensive collection of garage tools, construction equipment, tractors, motorcycles, ATVs and a 45-foot motor home.
Brooks' single NASCAR career win came at Talladega in 1973, and he was named NASCAR’s Rookie of the Year in 1969. He was also, at one time, a NASCAR team owner and a TV pit reporter.
Pre-registration is necessary to participate in the auction. For more information, call (864) 430-8214; (864) 277-5555; or (864) 680-9800.

Hmm, I haven't seen a listing for this auction locally, who's doing the auction. He also owned a big old Chevy dealership.
I may have to mortgage the farm and and bid on the SL!!!!!
Perhaps the Gullwing is really neglected so I can buy it on the cheap and then sell off the parts on Fleabay
