help i was robbed!
found my pioneer cd missing from 80 300sd this am.i guess the gremlins were out last night.anyway id like to reinstall a becker grandprix stereo with automatic tuning.problem is ive got extra wires coming out of this thing.left and right speakers ok ive got that but ive got 2 light blue,1 yellow and 1 white.there are also several DIN type jacks.this is definately vintage Becker circa 1970s with chrome faceplate and knobs for tone, volume and tuning.

Yeah but betcha the Pioneer had helluva lot more wires than the Becker needs. If it was me I'd search boneyards for 116 original radio and then cut waay back into the donor junkyard car's wiring harness to be able to restore the 300SD to original radio configuration. Otherwise try the Vintage Links Folder here, might find source for becker and/or blaupunk schematics there.

Check on Becker's website http://www.beckerautosound.com. They have wiring diagrams for all their old radios.

I have an old mono AM-FM Becker Europa in my Fintail, an old Pioneer cassette-radio in one of my 240Ds, and a Blaupunkt Cancun cassette-radio in the other. It's not worth having too attractive a sound system in my cars these days unless I can hide it, like the alternative audio system I installed in my Fintail.
It has a 100-watt amp hidden behind the dash, cabled to a battery CD, Walkman, or any other portable audio player with a headphone output that will fit in the center tray. The amp in turn drives a pair of 50-watt 2-way box speakers hidden under the front seats that actually sound pretty good. When it's parked, I can lock the player in the glovebox, take it with me, or usually, simply fold the armrest down to shield it from the sun and hide it from veiw. Happy Motoring, Mark
