Interesting 4spd manual 450slc in Phoenix

http://phoenix.craigslist.org/car/314190306.html

It was re-listed again today. Almost tempted to go look at it myself.

Clearly there is, be it a conversion or one of the VERY few (800?) 3.5's or 4.5's ever equipped with a manual tranny. It's obviously a manual, and they only had 4-speed manuals for them...

No such thing from the factory I mean - it could always be a conversion of some sort. A 73 4.5 was a U.S. only engine, no sticks. Europe got sticks but only with 3.5 motors. If it's factory I'd bet it has yellow injectors - 116 motor. Here's a strawman for someone to try to knock down - there has never, ever, never been a 117 motor with a stick shift in a production vehicle.

500? Never seen a 107, 126 sedan or 126 coupe, and it doesn't show up in the EPC. Wouldn't think they would necessarily be a production car either.

The G76.27a transmission came as a 4 speed (/4) or a 5 speed (/5), the latter replacing the ZF 5 speed of the late 60s.

500scl? Both 500SLs and 450SL 5.0s were all automatics.

I've seen a Euro 107 SL with a factory manual. It was purchased in Europe and brought back here. I can't remember if it was a 6 or a V8.
