Looking For a Source for Rear Hat Deck Replacement - W116
For a 1980 300SD W116. The rear deck is completely gone and moldy. Replaced the window gasket now I need to replace the hat shelf. I searched here but couldn't find anything. Anyone help me out with a recommendation? Where do you get these things?

I have the same problem on mine. On our W123, we just recovered it with some fabric we got at a fabric store. Looks good enough and I will likely do that on the W116 when I get to that point.

Recover or salvage yard are about the only options. By you I would imagine all the salvage yards contain burned out interiors. In Wisconsin you find rusty bodies and pristine interiors.

The hat shelf in my car is carpet on a hard backing. You might try World upholstery. They have domestic and imported carpet materials for MBs in 60" and 80" width and available by the yard.

I bought some matching material from a dry goods store and fabricated the base from similar board i found at home depot.use the original as a template
