Need help finding parts

Hello all, I have a client who has a 71 280se with some A/C problems. I am trying to find an auxiliary fan relay, but they must be made of unobtanium, no one knows where to get one. So I figured I would ask the people who know them the best.

The part # (if it helps) 000 542 97 19

Thanks in advance for your help

Did you try a Mercedes dealer? It shows as available in the Electronic Parts Catalog.

Thanks for the replies guys, yes we have tried several dealers, even the "Classic" dealer in Irvine. The parts guy we spoke with sounded extremely knowledgable, and he said the part was discontinued, even cross referenced with Bosch, no availability. If this is not the case, I would really like to know who to talk to.
Again- thanks

Then I don't know why it's showing up in the EPC without an "NLA." Did they do a european search as well?

I googled "mercedes" with the number and came up with one hit.

You can also try googling "bosch" and that part number.

Lastly, Randy Steele has always been my goto guy in these situations - contact info at bottom of page.

I found this eBay auction,

but it says Flasher Relay, you are sure about the part number?

You're welcome. But tell us the important stuff - did you find one, and did it fix the problem?

Our client actually found one on his own, I believe he said he was able to locate it at German Star-I'm sure you all are more familiar with that name that I am, but apparently they had it. He will visit us in the near future to have it installed, I will follow up with this thread then, for the fix that is.

That euro-parts-america link seems to come up all the time when I google part numbers, for everything. Does anyone know if they actually have all those parts or just a catalog of numbers on a webpage?
