75 w116 fuel sending uniy

Hello i posted this on the w116 page and gotten no answer I figured probably some one here can help.
My 75 450 sel has the sending unit that uses the nut to hold down .there is a second version which the nut is part of it
The question is can I use the newer version on my 75? Or only the original.style . Thank you

Sorry for the late answer- you cannot.

One needs to change the fuel tank to use the newer type of sending unit
(cannot mix and match them).

Reason for this is the way the threaded nut on the prevous type of fuel sending unit(shon below) and the new, integral nut on the newer version 1165420504 engage the fuel tank threads.
