New Exhaust System

Well I finally condemned the exhaust system on the '72 W108 barn find. I was able to find a bargain on a Bosal front pipe and front muffler. The rear muffler didn't have a brand and 2 Ansa connecting pipes between the front & rear muffler.

The Bosal front pipe are an exact fit, not so got the Ansa pipes or the rear muffler. Ther rear muffler would have been OK with the exception that the welded on brackets are in the wrong place. That was easy to deal with. The Ansa pipes are a different story.

No matter how I twisted the Ansa pipes the rear muffler would end up too high or too far left or right. After some mods with a BFH I finally got them to fit but I am not satisfied. I'll deal with that issue later.

The result of a days work is a proper and dignified sound.
