250C windshield seal unobtanium?

Hello, I have tried just about every source that I am aware of. Somebody has to have one. Looking for one for a 1970, and also a door seal, thanks folks!

You can't get one from the dealer?

I found mine on eBay. As I recall the seals for the windshield & back glass were $69.00 each. Now getting a glass guy to change out the seal is another issue all together.

About a year ago I checked with a local (Carson City) auto glass shop about getting the windshield and seal replaced on my 250. They seemed to think they could get one easily. I'm assuming the sedan and coupe have the same windshield and seal.

Coupe has a chopped top

Don't think a sedan seal would fit, the coupe having a shorter roofline. I might have found one for the 250C, thanks.

Bad assumption.

I learned the hard way that the after-market windshield seals for this car are not worth the $40-$50 you would save over buying it from the dealer.

cheap rubber is short lived rubber. Unless you are skilled at doing the job yourself and don't mind doing it and you don't ever drive in the rain where you live, get good rubber.

Ditto. You only want to do it once for many many years so if possible might as well try to get OEM. Feedback from my friends who used aftermarket rubber/seals say that most of the leaks developed after a number of months/years, not immediately after installation... it makes sense.

I didn't know the coupe roof line was lower. Learn something new every day

A-pillars have more rake on them as well.

Yeah, the coupe's roofline is two inches lower than the sedan.

I finally broke down and bought one from Adsitco. It should be here in a couple of days. I'll let you know about the quality when I see the seal.

$170 from Adsitco and $282 from the local MB dealer. I'll probably regret not spending the extra money but the plan is to have the interior replaced next summer which means the wind screens need to come out anyway.
