How to Remove Heater Core, 1973, 280C
Does anyone how to get access and remove the heater core?

First you pull the console, then the dash, then the A/C and heater plenum.
Then you will find the heater core. It's a pretty involved job. Jim

X2! I haven't had the pleasure on mine yet (knock on wood), but I understand the car was built around the heater core and blower, if that gives you and idea about the degree of difficulty. When you have it out make sure the blower is in good....no excellent shape. I've heard that at least one guy cut a hole in the firewall and accessed it from there. I'll do mine the right way when the time comes.

I've replaced 6 or 7 of them and they aren't fun. Figure 12 hours on the first one and I spent 1 hour on the last one. (I drove it to a friend of mine and he did the work). It's pretty involved and mostly grunt, curse and contortion work. Take your time and plan on spending an entire weekend.

blow torch comes to mind!
not easy but as Mike and Jim attest, one mean PIA job, but you will learn and see a lot some only can guess at.. Good luck
