75 280S M110 Emission tube?

Hello all, I was wondering if someone can give me the name of that black plastic ( what im assuming is an emission line of some sort) thing that sits in the cam box and goes to the back of the carb..I am replacing carb on my M110 motor and this line is split right where it comes out of the bottom of cam box..I cant seem to find it anywhere..called dealer but they seemed clueless..If you looking at motor from front of car it is on the right side of cam cover..sits under a little round bump in the cover..If anyone has any clue about this piece then maybe they can answer my next question..how do you change this piece? does cam box need to come out? Thanks for any help..

If it's the short piece of hose I'm thinking of between the cam housing and intake manifold--I'd take a thin-walled flexible inch-long piece of rubber hose and pinch, prod and maneuver it into place. Mine has hose clamps on either end--any vacuum line has been sealed off long since installation.

This liitle hose vents oil vapor from the cam housing through a tiny metered orifice into the intake manifold to be drawn off and burned if necessary, maintaining a slight vacuum in the cam tower. It seems to work better than you'd think

What you seem to be describing is, as Tim has noted, is a hose connection, not to the carburetor at all, but to the intake manifold. If, in fact, you are describing something which does connect to the carburetor, pictures would be in order. That said, the method that Tim uses is the usual one, but, there is another. With the cover of the cam box removed, you will see that the vent fitting is screwed into the cam box. A very large-bladed screw driver for a 3/8 or 1/2" drive socket handle and extension is required, as is heating of the side of the cam box adjacent to the fitting (a Bernz-o-matic torch works). With the fitting unscrewed, the hose connection is much more easily slipped out, and replaced.

Yes Frank..the way you described it thats exactly what I was referring to..But on my car it does inded go to the carburetor..The middle port on the back of the solex 4A1.. The part I actually need is not the vent valve itself but rather the piece that connects to the valve on bottom of cam box, on my car this piece goes to carb. I tried to use hose clamps but its still leaking vacuum..I will try to find a pic to upload tonight

If a hose clamp is still leaking try a compression clamp, the type you open with a pair of pliers and then it snaps around the hose. The screw down hose clamp can deflect and not allow an equal seal all the way around. The compression clamp will grip all sides evenly and give a better seal in a vacuum setting.
