280CE window seals & door seals HELP??

Dear Santa,

All I want for Christmas are my 2 door seals oh... my- ok seriously now. I am struggling to find door and window seals- all rubber around my doors and and rear windows on my latest addition to my garage- a 1978 Euro model 280CE. Any help much appreciated.

Look in the Diesel Discussion "W123 Coupe Upper Window Seal Replacement". All the info you need is discussed there.

suggestion - aftermarket can vary in quality and will make the result unsatisfactory, do some research on brands VS OE , dont ask me how I know

Not really seeing a source for these seals though. Hope someone found a bunch in a bin somewhere and have them to sell.

I have seen a few mentions of doors not closing properly- my hunch is product is too stiff and glass not seating correctly behind lip of seal. I am at my wits end trying to find these darn seals.

You might consider used. I know it sounds weird but if it is in good condition then why not?

Are those upper seals two piece, front and rear? The '82 300CD I owned for a while had developed a gap in those seals on both sides right where the front and rear glass meet up under the drip edge. The wind noise was awful. The seals were in OK shape apart from the apparent age-related shrinkage and the resulting gap. I ended up pulling a section of that seal from a U-Pull car and cut short pieces off it to fill those gaps and it made a big difference in the noise level.

Where are you located? There is a 1981 300CD in a Los Angeles area auto wrecking yard with a good looking set of seals that you are looking for.
